Nearly five years ago, the village panchayat, set up a contest in which everyone can take part and earn interesting rewards. The competition was common for all age groups. The games were rather easy. When the tournament began, the panchayat gave the participants a mango and ten gold coins; All they need to do is hide the money somewhere where no one will find it. They will

be jostled out of the game if discovered by the members. Everyone got excited to play the new version of the hide-and-seek game.

They made an effort to hide the mango and the coins in every crevice they could find. They tried even in their lockers, the treasury box, the shrubs outside their house, and in the safest places they could find. Everybody felt that their secret place was exceptional and the best. Some people consumed the mangoes, while others put them in the refrigerator, where they likewise went bad within a week.

In less than two days, unexpectedly the community came under attack by thieves. They managed to discover all the coins, including the ruined mangoes and took whatever they could from the area. Despite many attempts to stop them, they managed to get away via the backyard. Everyone was concerned about their squandered wealth as they stood there empty-handed.

They were definitely unhappy about this. They questioned how the burglar managed to take only the coins the panchayat gave while leaving all the other valuables unharmed. They doubted the panchayat behind the robbery.

When the episode left every one of them perplexed, they learned that an elderly gentleman who lived close to the well was in a delighted state. It looks like he hasn’t lost anything. They decide to approach the old man, who was fit and smart. He was buying basic groceries and was heading home. The villagers approached the old man and enquired about the valuables. Everyone, even the chairman of the panchayat, was stunned by the response he gave. He said that he had finished savouring the mangoes and that his gold coins were in fact extremely safe.

The elderly man also expressed gratitude to the panchayat chief for giving him exquisite mangoes. People in the area were highly confused and didn’t

know how to question him, since they all made fun of him when he entered the village. A woman pushed her way forward and asked the old gentleman about the money. The man gleefully guided them to the front of their lawn and asked them to gaze at a small plant in the middle of their garden.

“Dear leader, the mangoes you donated and the money are extremely safe in that tree,” the man remarked.

He claimed to have consumed the mango after being drawn in by its rich flavour and vibrant colour. The seed was then put in the garden, where it steadily began to develop into a tree. He also claimed that the panchayat official is the burglar who has been stealing from everyone in the hamlet. To learn more about people, he was conducting a test by the give-and-take policy.

When A voice asked, “What about the coins?”  The man responded without any second thoughts. He donated the coins to the nearby non-profit organization to help people in case of emergencies. It was a wise decision to do it. Additionally, he persuaded others to follow suit, and everyone agreed.
